Support Cally Masters swimmers in the Swimathon 2013

Cally Masters has entered Swimathon 2013, the world’s biggest fundraising swim.

We are raising money for Marie Curie Cancer Care, who give people with all terminal illnesses the choice to die at home. Marie Curie Nurses provide them and their families with free hands-on care and emotional support, in their own homes, right until the end.

You can sponsor us online at: http://my.artezglobal.com/TeamPage.aspx?teamID=57156&langPref=en-CA

Every £20 we raise will provide one hour of Marie Curie Nursing care in a patient’s home.

Marie Curie Nurse, Lorna Clarkson:
“If you’ve had your own experience with a Marie Curie Nurse, you’ll know the value of spending that precious time with those you love. And I feel I’m truly able to offer care for terminally ill patients where and when they wish.

“Not only do I have the time to truly listen to patients during my long shifts, but your gifts offer me the opportunity to really hear what they’re saying and act on that – whether it’s passing something on to their family in the morning, or helping them with a special request”.

Welcome to our new coach

Cally Masters is very excited to welcome our new coach, Wojtek Slusarczyk.

Wojtek has had a keen interest in swimming all his life, having swum competitively from a young age. He attended a specialist sport primary school and participated in individual medley, although backstroke was his strongest. He became regional champion and competed in the national finals.

Wojtek has achieved ASA Level 1&2 Teaching and Level 1 Coaching and worked with swimmers of all abilities and ages at GLL-Better pools and most recently at Camden Swiss Cottage Swim club. He has also volunteered with the Fleetwell Swimming Club for the Disabled. He says, “This is my hobby and passion. I swim regularly and enjoy researching drills and techniques. I take the development of my students very seriously and push them to their full potential. Swimming should be fun, and I always strive to make my lessons enjoyable and diverse, in the hope it inspires my student to become as passionate about this sport as I am.”

We all look forward to improving our swimming with Wojtek’s help!
