Cally Masters is a group of dedicated swimmers in the London, Islington area ranging in age and ability. Most of our sessions take place at Cally Pool.
As per the ASA definition of ‘masters’ swimming, the club is open to adults of age 18 and over.
Our swimmers have a range of experience and training targets. Some swimmers train primarily to improve or maintain fitness, others compete in local or national masters competitions. A number of our swimmers participate in open water events and a few are triathletes. Anyone particularly interested in triathlon would also be recommended to visit Tri London.
The Club actively welcomes membership of swimmers of all levels of ability, including those who, in the past, may not have considered themselves to be habitual swimmers or have felt, for whatever reason, excluded from swimming. Cally Masters actively strives to be an inclusive and welcoming community for everyone, regardless of ability, achievement or goals.
Please see the ‘Trying us out‘ tab if you are interested in joining.
We are a friendly and sociable club who regularly visit the local café after our Saturday morning swim sessions. One of the highlights of the Cally Masters year is the annual Christmas dinner.
What we get up to…
Since 2006, Cally Masters has been represented at the yearly British Gas ASA National and Senior Age Group Championships as well as the bi-yearly European Masters Championships and FINA World Masters Championships, claiming a number of medals and top 10 finishes. On top of this we have had a team representation at a number of local and regional events.
Our pool swimming is supplemented by open water swimming: amongst our number we have Channel swimmers, triathletes, and those always looking for events in lakes and rivers, and trips to the coast.
Cally Masters members, please ensure you let us all know about your past and present swimming achievements – we would love to highlight them all here!
